The Scout Bassett Grant
The Scout Bassett Grant, established in partnership with Athletes for Impact and the Women's Sports Foundation, provides much-needed financial support to women athletes with disabilities to fuel their training, competition, and advancement in elite sport.
With the launch of our second class of grantees, the Scout Bassett Fund continues to grow a community of women athletes supported through direct investment, visibility, and long-term belief in their potential.
OUR IMPACT
BREAKING NEW GROUND
The Scout Bassett Fund has awarded $80,000 to 10 women athletes with disabilities, helping fuel excellence, access, and longevity in sport.
Across our growing community of grantees, athletes have competed on the world’s biggest stages, including the Paris 2024 Paralympics, where multiple athletes earned silver and bronze medals, demonstrating what's possible when women athletes receive sustained investment and community-backed support.

Who is SCOUT BASSETT
SCOUT BASSETT IS A PARALYMPIC TRACK &
FIELD ATHLETE FROM THE UNITED STATES.
She competes in sprinting and long jump events, and has won multiple medals at both national and international competitions.
As a child, Bassett was injured in a fire that led to the amputation of her right leg. Despite facing adversity and losing her leg at a young age, Bassett’s unwavering determination and dedication to her sport has led her to become not only a decorated Paralympic athlete but also a source of inspiration and motivation for people with disabilities around the world.

FROM SCHOLAR TO RECORD-BREAKER

In the pursuit of her
Paralympic dreams,
she took a bold step and left her job in the spring of 2015. Her relentless dedication paid off as she successfully qualified for her first Paralympics in 2016. A 7x National Champion title in the 100m, she has proven herself as a force to be reckoned with.
World Record in the 400m
Not just limited to one sport, she has achieved remarkable success in two sports, track and triathlon, boasting an impressive 6x global medalist record. Her accomplishments continue to soar as she currently holds the prestigious World Record in the 400m and stands as the American Record holder in the 200m.
